KEVIN R. JOINER, ESQ.Attorney Joiner has broad experience in several legal practice areas. He has almost nine years of experience as a criminal defense litigator; handling matters ranging from petty crimes to manslaughter/murder. Attorney Joiner practices in both State and Federal Court and has represented international clients; he has 7 years of trial experience. In addition to criminal defense work, Attorney Joiner practices transactional work in the area of commercial and residential real estate matters. He has represented individuals and corporations in the purchase/acquisition, sale and refinance of real property.Since becoming a lawyer, Attorney Joiner has practiced as a solo practitioner and as part of a partnership. He currently shares a partnership with his law school classmate Kevin T. Henry, Esq. Attorney Joiner graduated from the University Of Connecticut School Of Law, class of 2004. While in law school, he had a strong interest in sports and entertainment law but upon graduating found the industry very difficult to penetrate. Over the years he has begun to build a practice tailored to this industry. Attorney Joiner has established a clientele base that includes several movie production companies, musical artist and professional athletes. Attorney has drafted, reviewed and negotiated various contracts for these clients; he also serves as general counsel to these clients. Attorney Joiner is very in touch with the community in which he works and resides. His 19 plus years as a Hartford Firefighter allowed him to work and interact with a broad spectrum of people. Through this experience grew a desire to want to stay connected and give back in a way that would positively impact the community and the people in and around it. Attorney Joiner does a significant amount of pro bono work through several different community based organizations. He developed Joiner’s Justice, a 15-week program whose mission is to foster the development of stable citizens, families, and communities through a comprehensive workshop that focuses on bridging the gap between the criminal justice system, ex-offenders, families and employers. |
AMANDA ESTREMERA, PARALEGALAmanda studied liberal arts at New England College in New Hampshire and studied psychology and sociology at Mitchell College. Amanda is a certified paralegal obtaining her certification from University of Connecticut, West Hartford. Amanda handles a wide variety of legal matters ranging from criminal defense to real estate. She has been an integral asset to this office.Amanda has been with the firm for almost two years and prior to joining us, she worked for a loss mitigation attorney serving as a legal assistant. |
KEVIN HENRY, ESQ.Attorney Henry practices in criminal defense and commercial and residential real estate transactions. Attorney Henry specializes in commercial tax appeals. In addition, Attorney Henry counsels sports and entertainment clients with respect to contract negotiations and endorsements.Since entering private practice, Attorney Henry has handled complex litigation matters in state courts across Connecticut. Prior to joining the firm, Attorney Henry practiced in the areas of real estate, commercial, products liability, and insurance litigation, as well as, chaired of the Sports Management Group of an AmLaw 200 firm. Attorney Henry was a certified player agent for the Women’s National Basketball Players Association as well as a National Football League certified contract advisor. Before entering private practice, Attorney Henry served as vice president of the Hartford Partnership for the Metro Hartford Alliance Chamber of Commerce, where he was responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing economic development strategies for the Office of the Mayor for the City of Hartford and the Hartford Chamber Board of Directors. In this capacity, Attorney Henry managed the $1 million "Streetscape II" revitalization project and managed all aspects of Hartford Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (HYPE)(1000 members) a networking initiative aimed at the retention, recruitment, and optimal utilization of young professionals in the Hartford Region. Attorney Henry has also served as a legal liaison for the Hartford Housing Authority. |
